Surat : When the world’s largest diamond bourse ‘Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB)’ is all set to open up for the diamantaires by the end of this month, about 10 top-notch businessmen from the gems and jewellery sector in Dubai have shown their interest to purchase offices in the SDB.
At an international conference organised in Dubai on ‘Investment opportunities in Gujarat’, the businessmen involved in the gems and jewellery business showed their willingness to purchase offices at the SDB, which is likely to be inaugurated by the end of December-2021 or in January-2022. About 10 top-notch gems and jewellery businessmen in Dubai showed their interest to purchase offices at the SDB.
Regional chairman of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Dinesh Navadia, who represented Surat on behalf of the SDB and the GJEPC told TBT, “A detailed presentation was given at the international conference to the businessmen of Dubai. About 10 businessmen involved in the gems and jewellery trade were overwhelmed with the presentation and that they showed their interest to purchase offices at SDB”
Navadia added, “The SDB project in Surat’s Khajod has moved the world’s gems and jewellery sector. The SDB is bigger than the Pentagon in the United States. It is three times bigger than its counterpart in Mumbai, the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). With the international business tycoons showing interest in the SDB, the face of the Surat’s gems and jewellery industry will change in the coming days”
