Vice-chancellor of VNSGU, Kishoresinh Chavda

Surat: The Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has scripted history by becoming the first university in Gujarat to implement Multiple Certification (MC) under the National Education Policy (NEP) on Saturday.

The vice-chancellor of VNSGU, Dr. Kishoresinh Chavda had called the Senate meeting where changes were approved in the university statute 229(b) for the implementation of MC under the NEP from the current academic year 2021-22.

Under the Multiple Certification Policy (MCP), the students will be given degree certificates as per their yearly education. The degree certificates will not only be recognized globally but the credit will also get transferred.

Under the MCP, students will get the certificate after completion of the first year, diploma in the second year, graduation degree in the third year, an honors degree in the fourth year in the degree course.

The implementation of MCP from the current academic session has come as a big relief to the students leaving degree courses, due to various reasons, after one year. Now such students will get the certificate from the VNSGU for the completion of the first year in degree courses.

The students planning to go abroad for further studies will be eligible for the credit transfer policy under the MCP.

VNSGU V-C,  Dr. Kishoresinh Chavda said, “VNSGU has become the first university in Gujarat to implement NEP for the students from the current academic session. MCP is going to benefit the students of the VNSGU”
