Surat : The heavy engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday flagged-off the four critical Propylene Oxide (PO) reactors manufactured for the first time for the ThyssenKrupp industrial solutions AG (tkIS), Germany for their project in China.
The flagging off ceremony of the reactors took place at the L&T’s Hazira manufacturing facility in the virtual presence of the dignitaries from Germany and India.
Official sources said the reactors will play a crucial role in the propylene oxide production plant based on the Evonik-Uhde HPPO technology. The manufacturing of these large tubular reactors involved duplex stainless-steel tubes, wed-overlays with stringent chemistry and welding controls.
Christopher Gasch, project procurement manager, tkIS, Germany said, “We are delighted by the open, trustful and result oriented approach of team L&T in manufacturing these complex PO reactors and meeting high level of quality amidst unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic challenges”
