Surat: The man-made fiber (MMF) sector in India will witness the first-ever exclusive fabric show titled ‘WeaveKnitt’ to provide a B2B platform to the weavers, knitters, technical textiles, and fabric manufacturers.
The six-days long exhibition to be held at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) at Sarsana starting from August 11, will provide a wide platform to the weavers, knitters, technical textiles, and fabric manufacturers to showcase their classic and exclusive fabrics to the wholesale traders, retailers, fashion houses, fashion designers, branded apparel manufacturers, special industrial product manufacturers and consumers from across the country.
Dinesh Navadia, president of SGCCI told TBT, “This is the first time that the chamber has organized an exclusive fabric exhibition in the country. The manufacturers of yarns, weavers, knitters, technical textiles, and narrow fabrics are participating. This exhibition will go a long way in providing a unique platform to the fabric manufacturers in Surat in particular and country in general”
According to Navadia, apart from Surat and South Gujarat, there will be exhibitors from major textile markets across India such as Indore, Cuttak, Jaipur, Pune, Benaras, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Bangaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkatta, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Delhi. The exhibitors will get on-the-spot business from the buyers.
Ashish Gujarati, vice-president of SGCCI said, “WeaveKnitt exhibition will provide an excellent opportunity for the woven, knitted, technical textiles, industrial and specific fabric manufacturers to showcase their products to buyers from across the country. This will be a one-stop-shop exhibition for manufacturers to showcase their latest collections of various fabrics such as plain, twill, satin, apparel, home furnishing, single jersey, double jersey, and technical textiles”
The exhibitors will be launching new and exclusive fabrics during the exhibition. In addition to this, the textile processors, apparel manufacturers, fashion designers and fabric buying houses, business leaders and entrepreneurs, decision-makers from the government, product development executives, CEOs, senior executives, venture capitalists, NGOs, and consultants will find a lot of useful information from their exhibition.
