Senior BJP leader from South Gujarat, Mangubhai Patel appointed governor of Madhya Pradesh.

 

Surat :  Former deputy speaker of Gujarat Assembly and cabinet minister in the Gujarat government, Mangubhai Patel has been appointed as the governor of Madhya Pradesh. Patel, 77, a native of Navsari in South Gujarat and a well-known tribal face of BJP, said it is a big responsibility and thanked President of India, Ramnath Kovind for reposing faith in him.

Immediately after the official announcement from the President’s office, party workers and well-wishers thronged at the residence of Mangubhai Patel in Navsari town and congratulated him for the new responsibility as the governor of Madhya Pradesh.

Talking with TBT, Mangubhai said, “I am thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and President of India, Ramnath Kovind for reposing faith in me and giving me such a huge responsibility. I pray to the almighty to give me strength and courage to deliver my job as the governor of Madhya Pradesh”

Asked whether he was inactive in the party politics, Patel said, “I am very much active in the party till now. I continue to walk on the path shown to me by PM Modi and serve the people of my constituency.”
