Surat. More than 70 artists from the diamond city will display their exemplary art works at the three days long painting exhibition titled ‘RAY’ organised jointly by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and city-based Creative Hive Studios starting from July 9.
The painting exhibition has been organized at Vanita Vishram Art gallery at Athwagate.
Dinesh Navadia, president of SGCCI told TBT, “RAY stands for good present and future hopes. The only reason behind choosing this name is that the definitions of life have changed in Corona times. Changing equations of everyone’s life has created a kind of situation that is difficult to describe in words. The artists participating in this exhibition are needy people who have lost their income due to coronavirus pandemic and there are also some artists who will use the earnings from this painting for others.”
According to Navadia, these paintings made on 2×2 canvas and will be available for sale to the visitors at the exhibition. The selling price of all these paintings will be Rs 6,000 per picture. The proceeds from the sale of paintings, excluding expenses, will be used either for charity or for the needy artists to make them self-sufficient. Citizens are invited to visit the exhibition and purchase paintings.
