Surat : Secretary General of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Praveen Khandelwal has been appointed as the member of the Advisory Council for Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
The DPIIT has initiated a project on ONDC and the task has been assigned to Quality Council of India (QCI). ONDC aims at promotion open networks developed on open sourced methodology, using open specificatios and open network protocols independent of any specific platform.
ONDC is expected to digitize the entire value chain, standardize operations, promote inclusion of suppliers, derive efficiencies in logistics and enhance value for consumers.
The Advisory Council for ONDC will advise the government on measures needed to design and accelerate adoption of ONDC.
CAIT’s Gujarat President, Pramod Bhagat told TBT, “It is a proud moment for the entire team of CAIT. Khandelwalji is the torch bearer of tens of thousands of traders across the country. The formation of ONDC advisory council will go a long way for the benefit of the traders at large”
