Surat will be air connected with five cities starting July 16

Surat : There is some good news for the high flying Surtis.
The diamond city will be connected with five cities in the country through air starting July 16. India’s leading private carrier, Spice Jet is expected to commence flight services connecting Surat with five different cities.
Sources said after the second wave of Corona calmed down and as life is returning towards normalcy, the air services from Surat airport are all set to be restored in the next one month. Private airlines including Indigo and SpiceJet have rescheduled their flight operations from Surat.
Spice Jet is expected to commence flight services from Surat to Patna, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Jabalpur.
Sanjay Jain, member of We Work for a Working Airport at Surat (WWWAS) told TBT, “At a time when the Corona pandemic has slowed down, the airline services at Surat airport are all set to be restored soon.  Our group has also appealed to start Surat-Pune flight.  They are likely to start soon.’
Notably, the first wave of the Corona and the second wave saw a drastic reduction in the number of passengers at Surat airport.  In May 2021, only 16,000 passengers took advantage of the airline for the entire month.  But since the government announced the concessions, Surat airport has once again started throbbing.
